The Conrad Prebys Foundation is pleased to announce that Brenda Lugo has joined the organization to serve as Executive Administrator. She will provide executive support to Chief Financial Officer Gil Alvarado and Chief Impact Officer Kaberi Banerjee Murthy.
Brenda comes to the foundation after nearly fifteen years of working for the City of San Diego in various positions. She began her career in local government in 2004 when she joined the City of San Diego’s Office of Homeland Security. During her tenure with the City of San Diego, Brenda provided high-level executive support working at the Family Justice Center, the Mayor’s office, and in four City Council offices.
Most recently, Brenda served as Director of Office Administration and Policy Advisor for San Diego City Councilmember Stephen Whitburn, where she oversaw administrative operations, managed the schedule, collaborated across council offices, and created and helped streamline office operations to serve constituents’ needs better.
Away from the office, she has volunteered her time and energy to create positive change in the lives of young girls and Latinas. She is an active member of MANA de San Diego, a nonprofit that works to empower Latinas through education, leadership development, community service, and advocacy, and she serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at Operation for Hope Foundation, a nonprofit focused on providing awareness, support, and advocacy for victims of domestic violence.
