Christiana has spent her career advancing mission-aligned social, environmental and sustainability initiatives across philanthropic, public, private, academic, and nonprofit sectors.

Previously, Christiana served as Senior Director of Environmental Initiatives at the San Diego Foundation (SDF). There, she advanced a comprehensive environmental grantmaking program, securing more than $50 million in public investments to support climate resilience and clean energy projects, as well as environmental and outdoor programs that address critical regional challenges. She spearheaded the development of the Binational Resilience Initiative, a first-of-its-kind cross-border philanthropic fund investing jointly in U.S. and Mexico partners.

Before joining SDF, Christiana worked at the University of San Diego where she managed The Equinox Project, the Outdoor Leaders Initiative and the Climate Education Partners project.

Throughout her career, Christiana has built and strengthened an ecosystem of partners and collaborators, critical to tackling the most challenging social and environmental problems we face today. She co-founded the Climate Funders Collaborative (Baja/​Imperial/​San Diego) and led the San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative.

Outside of work, Christiana serves on the Board of Directors of the Environmental Grantmakers Association and the Leadership Council of the Latina Giving Circle.

Christiana holds a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Languages and Bilingual Issues from the University of California, Berkeley. She earned an International MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. She finds peace in nature, inspiration in music and dance and joy in travel. She lives with her husband, Evan, and dog, Mila, in San Diego.
